Hi Gabarolas,

I haven’t got any experience with those cards, but from what I understand from your comment it should work if you have one valid MEO card. At least MediaGuard2 is not the problem.

Hi Gabarolas,

first of all the DD-WRT bios shouldn't be the problem, and as long as you are on the same local network with both computers the firewall settings probably aren't going to be a problem either.

The the ports used; It doesn't matter which port you use, as long as the client is listening to the same port as the server is broadcasting.

From what I read of your error messages connection was made on port 15000. Only settings where not correct. Read the newcs readme and turn on logging when you start the server. It should show some usefull info.

Another thing I must say that it might be more usefull to setup an linux cccam server in a virtual machine/virtual box. It is much more stable and the hadu plugin (client) is also working good for me now a couple of years. I haven't used the setup as described in the article for a couple of years now but it should work.

Hi Kaiser! Thanks for your attention earlier on, that was very kind of you.
I have a Infinity USB unlimited card reader with the MEO Original viewing card (SECA) and am using your software except I am using DVB Dream v1.5e (I guess it's similar in principle to ProgDVB concerning plugins ). I am confused as to which port you want WinCSC to read, 12000 or 15000? When I run the system I have a seperate server with the card on a local network routed to the local media pc and either port gives me different errors. (I must admit I am using DD-WRT bios programmed routers -nothing to do with SAT TV but maybe unreliable). On 15000 I get the error "Wrong server DESKEY or PROTOCOL" or on 12000 I get the error "Socket Error # 10061 Connection refused". I checked carefully the DES KEY and Protocol and Passwords and Users and they are set correctly. Also I get Tx Traffic off 0.7 k and no Rx.Constant Login errors and NO Key Errs. I am going to try to rearrange the server location on the network because of those flashed routers I have but it did log in perfectly with the radgest server no complaints!!???? I also have switched OFF all firewalls on my network including WLAN (risky I know). I would really apreciate you help Kaiser as you are very experienced in this particular setup.
Regards,
Gabarolas

Okay, I was confused. When I read your first post I assumed IKS was your key provider. As in some sort of cccam server where you get keys from. So forget my last answer. New answer is, yes this can be done.

As I can see in your second reply you're already on the right track. What you need is a card reader (try the infinity USB) and one valid card. Then install and configure a cccam server on your Linux installation. Many tutorials are found on the web, it's quite simple. Just google it. Some more info about IKS cardsharing that might help: http://www.purefta.com/forum/rumors/38703-facts-about-iks-accessing-nagra-3-a.html

KaiserSoze, thanks for your input.
Could you please provide me, if it's possible, with a link or some quick info of how IKS works?
As I know, I'll need a server (Win or Linux) running some software that I don't know, at least 1 card reader with valid cards and a public IP.
Any idea of software running in Linux distro?

Hi fitoCRC, usually this can't be done. Not only because the IKS provider only allows one active connection but probably also because they will prevent hopping (re-sharing the keys).

continue...

My IKS provider provide me with an IP or domain, username and password to log in to the server.

He validate my MAC address in the server access control list, so only one MAC can access the server (can be my server)
