Console command prompt on windows mobile 6
September 5, 2008 – 23:56
Pocket Console is a very nice piece of software that provides a console device and/or command prompt for windows mobile systems. Combine it with PocketCmd and you can control your windows mobile device from the command line – truly geek heaven!
It seems that pocket console website is with us no more and so it can be difficult to find both pocket console and pocket cmd on the web. In order to help people who are still looking for them I have uploaded both packages in one zip file.
There could be problems if Pocket Console and Pocket CMD are installed to a memory card. You may receive the following error message:
“CMD Cannot start. There are too many console windows open. Please close some console applications and try again.”
Solution is installing them to internal memory rather than a memory card – they are quite small so this is no big issue.

I installed both items to Windows Mobile 6.1, and I can change preferences in the pocket console snap-in.
But when I open pocketCMD from programs, nothing opens, no window appears and no program seems to be running.

Did you install on a memory card? This may cause problems.

For some reason i cannot get this, for the life of me, to work on the samsung Jack(sgh-i637). this phone has windows mobile 6.1 and i cannot figure out why it will not install. The installation starts then i get the message “installation of symbolictools pocketconsole.cab was unsuccessful. The installation file was not intended for this device.” What am i doing wrong??

The Samsung Jack is a Windows Mobile Standard device (no touch screen). This software is for devices with a touch screen only.
